'He's going to be unleashed': Republican DOJ appointees urge against Trump second term

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/08/25/justice-department-against-trump-401279

A group of onetime Republican presidential appointees who served as senior ethics or Justice Department aides are endorsing Joe Biden for president, warning that Donald Trump has “weaponized” the executive branch and is putting in peril the legitimacy of the U.S. Justice Department.

“I think a lot of us are extremely alarmed, frankly, at the threat of autocracy,” Donald B. Ayer, former deputy attorney general during the George H.W. Bush administration, said in an interview with POLITICO. “He’s going to be unleashed if he gets a second term. I don’t know what’s going to stop him.”

The former officials endorsing Tuesday served under the Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush administrations.

The officials said they’re backing Biden in the hope of restoring “basic honesty and integrity to the U.S. Department of Justice and to Executive Branch decision-making.”

Imagine being arrested, prosecuted, and convicted of being "Un-American." It could be because you are a Democrat. A Republican who hasn't signed The Pledge (to support Donald Trump). For being denounced by the neighborhood Gautleiter. And the courts have changed and will accommodate these new Thought/Political Crimes.

People think this is an over-statement. My father was a Holocaust survivor. He thought GW Bush was showing Nazi signs. I can't even imagine how horrified he would be of this monster and those who support him. Imagine the party when DJT finally kicks the bucket. Please ASAP.

I doubt MAGAts read much, ya think?

What groups, what medium, is or will be used to reach these people? They'll be dripping in fear and paranoia after this week.

Watches only Fox News, doesn’t use computers or read anything on the Internet like other news sources, never reads a book, lives in a small-town bubble. These are the un-critical people who have always voted Republican and always will. If Trump is able to steal this election, they will also be the people who will help him rip up the Constitution, appoint himself as dictator for life, and declare their Biblical beliefs as the law of the land. It only takes a few thousand voters like that to swing the election to Trump in states like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.

I really hope the younger voters who would never support such government realize how important this election is and actually vote. Their vote could go a long way to helping Biden win.

Many don't "get" how it's not an option to wait for or choose a candidate more in line with their values. That when the shit hits the road and the election is close, one MUST be pragmatic and vote for the best of the two candidates, and in this case it is more than obvious who that is. As a Warren supporter (Bernie in 2016) who has been around awhile, of course I voted for Hillary despite not being a fan, and of course I will vote Biden, who wasn't my first (or second or third) choice, although he's growing on me.

I have a brother who used to be a liberal Democrat who is now a hardcore Trump supporter who lives in rural America. He too never reads and only gets his news from Fox, tailored Facebook feeds, and (I think) OneAmerica. He is convinced Trump will win fifty states for god's sake. He thinks Trump is the best president in US history and the smartest person on the planet (although I avoid talking politics with him because what's the point, I had to laugh out loud at some of his proclamations.

If the young continue their purist ways, we could be hosed as a country and as a planet. They must vote Biden/Harris period, no matter their policy differences. I am old. Don't have too many years left. It is the young who will destroy the world they inherit if they don't get their shit together and vote the only way for the only choice.
