Today should be all about Social Security

When the elimination of the payroll tax came up last night I felt it was the biggest wedge we could possibly have.

Simple to understand, puts them on the defensive, and fits directly into the narrative of Whims with no thought.

Payments for Social Security benefits will end by the middle of 2023 if President Donald Trump were able to deliver on his promise of permanently cutting payroll taxes, and if another funding source was not provided to replace it, according to an estimate from the chief actuary of the Social Security Administration.

When you couple this with the USPS you have a double aimed right at the heart of some of Trump's key demographics.

Keep it simple stupid. A single theme is much more effective.

It’s very important for the older demographic at this point in time. Younger workers need reassurance that SS and Medicare will certainly be there for them when they are eligible. Republicans have been propagating willful disinformation on SS for years how the program is unstable and unreliable. This disinformation is aimed at younger people to foment distrust in government. Democrats need to turn this around through messaging reassuring younger workers that Democrats care about them throughout their productive years on to later years. Republicans want workers to contribute money to risky investment vehicles.

the lives of the elderly and vulnerable as expendable collateral covid damage. If they frame the destruction of Social Security as an issue that affects only those who are currently old or disabled, they are more likely to get away with it. This is an intergenerational contract and it is in the vital self interest of everyone, young and old alike, to honor it and keep it thriving.

Dems need to drive this home!

Also, as I've said previously, Joe should really consider decriminalizing or legalizing weed to get the younger voters on board in a huge way.

Bohner grabbed a spot on a corp board pretty quickly.

I really wish Joe would consider this to draw in non-voters. They will show up en masse! Not that younger folks are all egocentric, but thie is a popular stance & will really drive voters who wouldn't otherwise bother to vote. 👍
