And way too often leads to an "aw, fuck it" attitude. The problems are too big, too complicated, the opposing sides are too entrenched, let's just sit back and wait for Jesus to come back, wave his magic savior stick* and set everything to right, which just coincidentally is exactly how I want things. Then I'll watch Jesus send all you heathens off to eternal torment (sorry Brenda, but I tried to warn you to be God's best friend or he'd punish you forever, and no I'm not describing a psycho), then take me and the people like me off to heaven where will just sit around all day and think about Jesus.
