The point is that, as with the country, most swing states are deeply divided between urban Democratic districts and suburban/rural Republican districts. And, thanks to gerrymandering, there will be a lot more Republican districts, where Democrats will be a distinct minority, than the reverse. If states where Biden has won send a slate of Trump electors, it's a sure bet that the legislators voting to do that will be entirely from such Republican districts, where the majority of their voters would probably applaud their choice and make them even more popular because of it.

Or do you mean "the republic is OVER" in the sense that American democracy will come to an end altogether? In which case, you're probably right...it will be the end of the republic, and the beginning of the empire. Just like Rome.

The republic being over is the secession of states like California and New York.

If Dump steals this election, separatism will be on steroids.
