Accidentally picked up some Trump convention on the car radio

...and wound up becoming so incensed I almost drove off the road as I started hitting the buttons to change channels.

I just dropped off my daughter at the dealership to pick up her car and tried to get a station to listen to after her Iphone pairing ended and I thought I had found public radio because some woman was talking about working for Planned Parenthood. Things went south really quickly. I was suddenly listening to a story of a 13-week fetus, an "unborn baby" who fought with all its might against the vacuum machine because it was trying to live. All details and expressions of the face were apparently visible on the ultrasound screen for this speaker to see. She described watching in horror as the baby tried to pull away from the force trying to end its life and then seeing the little spine twirling round and round (like flushing the toilet I guess) as it was gone. Then something about the evil doctor saying "beam me up, Scotty."
I knew the whole story was bullshit, but it was so horrid that I was bashing at the controls to quickly end it after realizing what I was tuned in to. After a few minutes of channel surfing I found myself back there in time to listen to Tiffany. My Gawd! I thought she was supposed to be the neutral one.
No wonder Republicans hate us. Anyone who hears this shit as truth would hate us with every fiber of their being.
I am beyond disgusted, but also worried. How do we tell people they're brainwashed after they are told all evil in the world is our fault.

I have been struggling with online friends and family across the continent (here, too, unfortunately). So many are completely bamboozled. I haven't wanted to burn bridges because I keep thinking that they are going to gradually "come to" when sanity returns after the Republicans are voted away.
Silly me!
We are facing some pretty nasty shit right now and people who believe any of it see US as demons.
Time to take some deep breaths and listen to some nature.

I too, was cursing at my radio. Things I heard about Democrats include:

1.) We want to kill beautiful newborn babies the moment they are born.
2.) Native Americans are hateful people who just want to bang drums in the face of innocent white boys.
3.) The economy is GREAT. Right now, it's great! Democrats want to take all the money out of my purse. (Apparently I'm not allowed to carry a wallet.)
4.) Democrats want to let BOYS take over teenage girls sports and even force girls to shower with them!
5.) Donald Trump is the smartest person who ever walked the Earth, he performs multitudes of complicated tasks whilst reading volumes of briefings that turn mortal brains to greasy paste, and cares nothing for himself, only us.
6.) Only Trump can please GAWD, so we must pledge our faith to Trump, lest we make gawd have a sad.

My experience was accidental. I didn't deliberately tune in.
The point of my post was to point out how deceitful, manipulative, and vile the constant gaslighting is. Many supporters of Trump are just as bad, but there are victims, too. If I had not known better and heard what I heard I would have very bad feelings towards Democrats. Trump is cultivating hate and using it to gain power.
