There were, appallingly, several deaths of innocent people, some pedestrian, some in other vehicles. The sheriff actually justified the deaths of the innocents, saying that the stolen property was more important. I was horrified, not just that he thought it, but actually said it out loud. He and I had words, not that it accomplished anything except laryngitis. (Although the poppets. . .)
