Should they have a position?
Will voters blame Democrats for the destruction and violence on election day?
What should be the Democratic message?

(115,276 posts)He would rather blame someone else than try to work with Governors or local authorities to stop the destruction and unrest. He could make a statement about "police brutality". But he has said nothing. He seems to forget that he is the President and would prefer to blame Joe Biden and the Democrats.
some of the efforts that are going into the protests are also being expended on GOTV. GOTV would be much more productive at this point, at least by my way of thinking. We need an absolute tidal wave of votes.

(24,731 posts)Would blame the democrats because the party's against assault weapons and everyone knows more guns are the answer to everything.
Probably the party position is that peaceful protests are protected by the constitution. Looting, arson, shootings are not.
When we're in control, let's ban all weapons at mass gatherings or at any gathering approved by a level of govt.
