There was a knife on the drivers side floor. He was going to threaten two armed officers with a KNIFE! Did he announce he was going to get the knife? Nope. But, there was a knife. Well, that makes his being shot in the back seven times perfectly justifiable. Bullshit!
MAGA Boy shoots three people, walks down the street with a long gun slung over his shoulder and absolutely no one approaches him. Then, the A.G.s come out and spew bullshit about a knife. And, they wonder why the riots flare up.

I'm definately saying the knife was a plant until I'm proven wrong.
God this is so sick!

(2,406 posts)Even if the knife claim is real, he wasn't armed then and they outnumbered him by a lot. Being physically fit enough to tackle a guy -- when you outnumber him 4 or 5 to 1 -- should be required for being a cop.

(54,770 posts)went nuts.
I can see them tasering him, hitting him, whatever to keep him from getting in the car where a weapon might be. But 7 shots, no way to justify that. In this case, things would have been better if they had tackled him.

(47,399 posts)he said he had a knife after they asked him if he had any weapons. This doesn't make any sense, though I have serious doubts about the police version of the story.

(92,136 posts)no comments about the victim threatening anyone. They identified the officer involved in the shooting. They said none of the officers had body cameras. They did not go into any of the details involved, but said an independent investigation is going on by a state agency
A lot of unanswered questions remain, and just how independent this investigation will be is unknown
The knife being on the floorboard of the car is problematic because it reinforces that it was not a threatening situation by Blake

(19,038 posts)No way this guy said he had a knife.
This is the blue wall circling the wagons.

(92,136 posts)is very likely because he told them there was a knife in the car so they wouldnt shoot. The knife was found on the floorboard of the car, which implies he wasnt using it to threaten anyone.
That one officer fired 7 bullets into the victim implied that that police officer emptied the gun into the victim, and there was no attempt to take him alive, in fact, just the opposite
This more than excessive force, this was a deliberate attempt kill him
There were three kids in the car. What if they let him drive off? Nothing would have been lost, they identified him through the license
This whole situation smells a rat

(7,396 posts)To my knowledge they do not shoot people. So far. Maybe they should stop a few boat parades and do some searches.

(17,425 posts)instead of shooting him in the fucking back 7 times.
Also, I'm wondering why no other cops shot.
This whole narrative seems to be standard issue. Pisses me off.
I share your anger.

(4,316 posts)and police would be drilled in these scenarios over and over until it is second nature. The police acted like they didn't have a clue how to handle a situation that should be in their teaching manuals.
