'She was the aggressor': Former Liberty student alleges sexual encounter with Becki Falwell

A former Liberty University student says Becki Falwell, the wife of the university’s then-President Jerry Falwell Jr., jumped into bed with him and performed oral sex on him while he stayed over at the Falwell home after a band practice with her eldest son in 2008.

The student was 22 at the time of the encounter, near the start of Liberty’s fall semester. He said she initiated the act, and he went along with it. But despite his rejection of further advances, he said, Falwell continued pursuing him, offering him gifts and engaging in banter through Facebook messages.

“She was the aggressor,” he said.

The messages, screenshots of which were provided by the former student to POLITICO, suggest a flirtatious relationship that went beyond what might be expected of a mother communicating with her son’s bandmate.

in that vein. Only amongst those who already want to give him a way to shift blame, true. But there's a lot of fundie grifters like him who have personal motivations to promote the forgiveness and redemption angle in case they ever get caught themselves. Anything which shifts some of the blame off of him and onto his wife lowers the bar he's got to get over to get the grift train back on track.

10. Nope. Not suggesting that at all. I'm suggesting that this story, presumably true, could

have become public knowledge any of a large, large number of days in the past or the future. But it happened now. And it intersects with Falwell's first attempt, several days ago, to absolve himself of wrong doing in the pool boy story by claiming his wife had an affair and the paramour blackmailed him afterwards. Then that explanation falls apart because the pool boy had receipts, and now a couple days later we've got another story about his lascivious wife. It's convenient for Falwell given his apparently preferred defense strategy.

Did he, having known about this escapade, encourage this young man to come forward? Or did he point a reporter in his direction? I don't trust Falwell farther than I can throw him, and he's got to be attempting to spin and recover by media manipulation in some manner. If this is not that, okay. But, imo, it could be.
