IMO the most likely things to be dominating news coverage in October are as follows:

1 the virus and its death toll

2 the crushing effect on the economy as enhanced benefits expire next month. That will lead to a spike in evictions and mortgage defaults. In addition, there are going to be many high profile companies laying off thousands of workers. American Airlines and United will be two of them. The retail sector will also be hammered. It’s going to be ugly.
