Ben Jealous gave a grave warning on the Thom Hartmann show this morning. He said the Biden campaign is being greatly outspent in reaching Hispanic voters through multiple outlets, including FaceBook.

(16,378 posts)Tragic that people continue to vote against their own interests.
Tragic that it all boils down to $$$ and we cannot buy our way out of this hellhole.

(41,564 posts)Since Chump took over in 2016, the Cubans living (mostly) in Florida have seen a lot of reasons to NOT vote for him. Some have left the Party for good, others have decided they won't vote this time. This Cuban-American bloc has been voting solidly Republican since before the Southern racists came in. They're leaving, and the Puerto Ricans and Mexicans have already left.
What's left of the Latinx vote? Not sure.

(53,061 posts)Actual votes and current polling that shows Trump has had virtually no increase in support except among Latinos where he moved from 28 to 35%, probably gaining among non central American/Mexican evangelicals.

(34,232 posts)I'm the Democratic Precinct Chair.
I deal with all the voters here. My precinct voted 58% for Trump.
I am not lying.
Why is it Pro-Trump if I am the Democratic Precinct Chair?
It is reality.
Do you wanna win in November or put your head in the sand?
Come down here and talk to voters!
What are you doing for Biden????
Do you live in a Latinx community?

(61,033 posts)cycles, canvassing. Of course we're not doing that now because of covid. Also was a precinct captain for Obama so you're talking to a long time Dem worker. I feel for you in such a red district. I don't like to see info that makes people think what's the use though.

(34,232 posts)Probably by an 18 yo, who is overwhelmed by all the Trump signs. He's around 70 yo. He is quite able bodied though and is always redoing his yard and flying Marine flags etc. So he's not a frail senior citizen.
Protest, my ass..

Roughly same as last time.
brush
(61,033 posts)for God's sake. After trump has caged Latinx kids and called Latinx criminals and prostitutes I doubt he'll get as many votes from that community this time.
qazplm135
(7,654 posts)all current polling shows the numbers roughly similar to last time. Trump MIGHT lose a couple of percentage points, but there is no indication of a massive change.

I'm not "scared" about getting 70 percent of the Hispanic vote like last time.

Let me clue you in to something, I don't care what you think. I also don't really give much credence to claims made on an internet message board to begin with.
I'll start worrying about matching bonafides with you or anyone else about two days after never.

(21,886 posts)In 2016, there were way too many snark "thank you for your concern" replies to anyone who suggested that it would be close. Too many thought we had it an the bag. We must all vote and get people who never vote to vote. I've gotten some of my friend's kids to register, all of whom are 18-21ish.

(57,751 posts)Is pretending this election is in the bag. Biden is polling lower than Clinton did in Battleground states. We have to work hard for every single vote. Pretending voters think like we do about Trump is a serious mistake. In my state of MN, traditionally a blue state, Trump and Biden are statistically tied. There seems to be a backlash due to the riots, because Wisconsin has also moved toward Trump. The solution is not to blame people who point out the challenges facing us but to volunteer to phone bank and do everything you can to get Biden elected. https://joebiden.com/take-action/#
Close the request for money, and you'll see search fields to find phone banks in your area. If you're already doing this, fantastic.

If ANYONE (Brown, Black....) needs to be convinced that Biden supports them, they haven't been paying attention.
