https://www.orlandosentinel.com/opinion/endorsements/os-op-sentinel-endorsement-joe-biden-for-president-20200828-tntaxemoyrabtcy4khjugnuqwu-story.htmlNot only did the president fail to cure cancer, he botched a health crisis so badly that he made American No. 1 again, this time in total coronavirus cases (pushing 6 million) and COVID-19 deaths (180,000).
Donald Trump has lived down to our lowest expectations since that non-endorsement. It didnt seem possible at the time, but Trump has gotten worse, a constant chaos president dragging the once-proud Republican Party down with him.

Biden is honorable, faithful and truthful. He has the emotional capacity for empathy and understanding. Hes a person of faith. He cares more for his country than himself.

We endorse Joe Biden for president, and we implore Floridians to consider him as a balm to treat the wounds this current president has inflicted on the United States.

(37,481 posts)Granted, Orange and Osceola counties are blue, but Seminole, Lake, and Volusia counties are red. They will probably lose subscribers over this, but hopefully gain subscribers from those who admire what they did.
Their original decision was courageous and morally correct as well. That probably cost them also. They did what they SHOULD have done, as all media should.

(24,906 posts)I'm pretty sure he still has the highly coveted endorsements of Kid Rock and Ted Nugent. If he loses either of those he's toast.

Right out of the gate in 45's home state!
Other papers will probably follow suit.
I wonder if FL voters will.

This is BIG.

(4,373 posts)Just yesterday, the Repuke-appointees to SCOTUS decided to allow Florida to place voting restrictions on ex-felons:
Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan dissented. In her opinion, Sotomayor wrote that the high court's ruling "continues a trend of condoning disenfranchisement."
During the 2018 midterm elections, Florida voters overwhelmingly approved a constitutional amendment that granted certain non-violent felons the right to vote. The measure, known as Amendment 4, restored eligibility to an individual "after they complete all terms of their sentence."
The purge is already underway. That's why we need to get each and every blue-vote cast and counted.
