Could be. I do know plenty of people ignore the existence of or simply don't care about the layers of systemic oppression disabled people face in employment, housing, education and health care. It's all connected.

So we have to look for it from other people when that's not the point? What is so comforting about feeling victimized?
No idea what the first sentence means, but what you have wrong in the second sentence is that there is no comfort in feeling victimized -- but there is definitely comfort when someone recognizes that a system is victimizing you.

I think context can sometimes be a determinant.

I have had severe near-sightedness all my life, and my right one damaged from the less common retinal detachment (reattached) but complicated further by a big cataract since '08.

Less than normal hearing from birth, though I didn't even know that till the school nurse did the classroom check and I saw the letters next to my name were different! Uh, oh.

And temporary disabled through 2 major, 2 medium (same) ankle sprains.
Longer temporary crutches, wheelchair, quad cane because of tri-fractrured (the other) ankle ( w screws) over a few months.

So, yeah, had some inklings.

I am NOT comparing Dump to FDR. Hell naw. I'm just saying, a real leader would work to help build a world where people with disabilities don't have to hide anymore, where getting their needs met is no big deal and are able to rise to high positions if they have the drive and desire.

Hits harder after the loss of Chadwick Boseman, who kept his illness private for YEARS. I understand he might have wanted his privacy of course - but I have to wonder if he hid how sick he was because he thought he would be discriminated against if it was widely known. And he probably would have been right about that.

We already knew what Dump was made of during the first campaign where he mocked the disabled reporter. He's no leader at all. He's a cruel sociopath who torments others about their vulnerabilities and won't ever admit he has any of his own.
