A Ukrainian politician accused of helping the Kremlin interfere in the 2020 election interference has quietly parted ways with his D.C. lobbying team, POLITICO confirmed. One of the ex-lobbyists said he is now cooperating with U.S. law enforcement.
In April of this year, Ukrainian parliamentarian Andrii Derkach retained former Ukrainian parliamentarian Andrii Artemenko and a second person named Nabil Bader to represent him in Washington. Derkach has helped Rudy Giuliani a lawyer for Trump and longtime confidant of the president investigate unsubstantiated allegations about former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter.
Four months after he hired the lobbyists, on Aug. 7, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a statement pointing to Derkachs activity as part of the Russian governments efforts to damage Bidens candidacy.
On Aug. 15, the Justice Department unit responsible for overseeing foreign lobbying received notice that Artemenko and Bader were no longer representing Derkach. A letter from Bader to Derkach terminating their firms work for the parliamentarian is dated July 28.

The House Intelligence Committee's ranking member, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) on Wednesday declined to answer whether he had received materials from Ukrainian sources meant to damage former Vice President Joe Biden's (D) reputation ahead of the 2020 election.
Nunes was questioned repeatedly in a closed-door committee meeting Wednesday by Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.) about materials that were allegedly sent to GOP members of Congress, including the California representative, by Ukrainian lawmaker Andrii Derkach.
Derkach has worked with President Trump's personal lawyer, Rudy Giulian.

Maloney went on to tell Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), chairman of the Intelligence Committee, that there are public reports that congressional Republicans have received materials from the Ukrainian lawmaker, and that they "would not be prohibited from disclosure."
