Trump Says He Could Beat LeBron James in a Dunk Contest If Not for Bone Spurs

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald Trump escalated his war of words with LeBron James on Saturday by saying that he could defeat the N.B.A. star in a dunk contest were it not for bone spurs.

“I’ve seen LeBron James on TV, and, quite frankly, I don’t think he’s very good at basketball,” Trump said. “The media is very unfairly biased in favor of him because he’s a Democrat, and I think it’s a disgrace.”

“You look at LeBron and sometimes when he shoots the ball, it doesn’t go into the basket,” he said. “If I try to drink a glass of water and miss my mouth, it’s all CNN talks about.”

Trump said that it was “very sad” that his bone spurs would keep him from showing off his slam-dunk form, which he called “poetry in motion.”

“A lot of people are saying that I’m better at dunking than that beauty LeBron,” he said. “A lot of very smart people.”

At the N.B.A. bubble, in Orlando, James responded that he understood that the President’s foot woes would prevent him from participating in a dunk contest, but said that he would be happy to face Trump in a spelling contest.

However, I suspect that the only dribbling that he did while he was there was on his jersey.

He shoots, he misses.

But somehow I don't think he ever made too much of an effort at sports.

It's getting harder and harder to discern from the post headings.

This one, in particular, is so close to plausible that you can't tell from reading it that it's not real. I could absolutely see this scenario taking place verbatim. Just don't miss that by-line!

This horror show has gotten so surreal that without the byline, it's impossible to tell!

Borowitz strikes again!

The only thing Trump can dribble is any liquid he tries to drink from a glass he puts to his mouth. Pathetic, doddering old fool. What a creep! The sight of him lately makes me sicker than ever. He just turns my stomach.

But I seriously doubt he was athletic back in the day - since that was the one subject he couldn't pay anyone to substitute for him!

And I feel the same way, makes watching the news very difficult since it's all Trump, all the time! Doesn't anyone remember when we had news stories from all over the world?? These days, everything he says or does is so outrageous, illegal or offensive that it's impossible to cover it all!

the headlines. I subscribe to the WaPo and Boston Globe and donate to the UK Guardian and a few other websites and the headlines are inavariable monopolized by articles about Trump and/or Trump/republican related news. Our lives are saturated with this disgusting pig of a man and I am feeling suffocated by it. I feel like I can't get away from him unless I go into a complete blackout.

I honestly feel sick to my stomach all the time and less hopeful every day because they are so corrupt and evil. I really don't feel like I can survive another four years of this nightmare.

The entire world is watching - and holding its collective breath until the upcoming election! Trump has made this country a laughingstock and the subject of derision and pity throughout the world in less than 4 years!

And I can't take him, either - never could. I started turning away from the news during the last campaign since he was on all the time, we started seeing little else. I planned to go back to the news after the campaign was over, but it never ended! These days, I depend on Colbert, Seth and Trevor for a lot of my news since at least they tell it like it is, he's a nightmare and a joke!

Geez, in those days high school basketball at an all white school was barely an athletic activity.
Little movement, no touch defense, no fast breaks, everyone playing 3 feet below the rim.
One didn't need to be very athletic to play bball under that situation.
He didn't have to be an athlete to be on that school's teams.
He was never a real athlete. Just like he was never a real billionaire or successful deal maker.
