Dr. Patel on MSNBC just said she would not take a vaccine "fast-tracked" by FDA

She said that several vaccines are in phase 3 trials right now, and results can still be months away.
She said it will be worth waiting those extra months for a fully vetted process.

Right now, I am hoping for March or April 2021.

Until then, given that 5% or more of people near me are likely actively infected, I will be isolating at home as much as possible. Grocery stores and pharmacies only.

Over the last 8 months I've gotten used to the routine. I know I'm a very lucky person to have a job that allows this.

giving very good, clear information about the pandemic.

I have grown to trust her, and I'm relieved that her conclusion was what I was feeling.

Trump has shown he will bully the FDA to his will, and he will do anything to win.

Fauci needs to state clearly that he would not support any EUA (emergency use authorization/fasttrack, ie without US based phase 3 trials) vaccine for widespread public use.

Dems have to get in front of this story as we don't need to be surprised by it at the last minute.

13. There's something of a catch 22 there

The higher the numbers over the next couple of months... the faster phase 3 trials could show some results. But the lower the numbers... the less concern there is for a vaccine.

Assuming an effective vaccine of course.
