(2,567 posts)I guess the ubiquitous "thugs on a bus coming to your town" rumor got worn out.

(2,690 posts)I think it was a tweet asking how a mob of dark-clad, masked and armed (probably black) men could get passed TSA -- or even an unarmed mob of dark-clad masked black men, for that matter?
Laura Ingraham is soul-ugly. Even on Fox, Trump's lies and fantasies should be called out and his "Oh, you'll hear about it but its under investigation." Investigation? For what? By whom? If this is actually a mob of anarchists, why were they even permitted to board a plane in mufti? You're just making shit up, Mr. President, and I'm a woman of principles who will not let you get away with it."
Just kidding about that last part, Ingraham couldn't call herself a woman of principle without the studio bursting into flames.

(8,731 posts)I can not wait until he is off our plane, it is disinfected, and he is back on that piece of shit plane, broke and no money for safety upkeep. We need a Samual Jackson video on Air Force One screaming you get these Mother Fucking Thugs off of our airplane.

(6,181 posts)I was station in the south 1965-1969 with my family's home in the Boston area.
In today's world, this is going to be hard to believe. But if you had a military ID and were in uniform often (very often) they would make room for you on a full plane. More than once I sat in one of the stewardesses empty jump seats in the front or back in the of the plane. On one occasion I flew in a first-class seat that was empty. And on more than one occasion the ride was free. I didn't fly enough to be considered a regular but more than one crew member told me their husband, brother, boyfriend, sister (nurse) was serving in Vietnam.
Great airline who took care of those in uniform. I can't honestly remember ever being turned away. They always made room. I think back then and maybe now there were seats "saved" for crew members who had finished a shift and was deadheading home.
If you are reading this and were employees of Eastern Airlines thank you. I often was flying home to spend a couple of days with my family and my girlfriend. This November my wife and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary.

(27,581 posts)Flying military stand by I could go anywhere on any airline. It was just like having a ticket. I have no doubt they kept some seats empty just for us. It felt good to be appreciated. But when I got off the plane, now that was a different story. Glad today's soldiers are not subject to such scorn.

(36,827 posts)He said Trump was no different back then. He told everyone it was going to be the greatest airline ever, and then went about running it into the ground.
