1. Question for medical people:

I believe Trump is right handed. Wouldn't an IV, blood draw, etc., be done with his left hand? The bruise appears to be on his right hand. Maybe a bad vein or multiple procedures so both hands used?

I know I prefer and request that any blood draw is only done from the top of my left hand because the veins are good there and not at the crook of either arm...so I am not questioning the use of the hand...just that it is the right hand and not the left.

Edit for typo

3. When the phlebotomist finds the best vein for a blood draw, they use it.

So right hand or left hand is not a deciding factor, vein sturdiness is.

2. Blood thinners - prescribed after strokes - can cause bruising.

I have no idea what's going on with Trump, obviously, but purely as speculation it seems there are some indications that he might have had a stroke.

He went to Walter Reed unexpectedly. The reasons given don't make sense. His gait is odd. He needs two hands to drink from a glass. His balance is shaky. His whole right side seems off. And sometimes he seems to be very confused.

I know enough people that bruise because of that kind of med.

Good observation. Thanks.

I am slightly older than t-rump, I take one full aspirin per day as a thinner but I was getting bruises a lot before the aspirin... Mine are caused by sun damaged skin... started a little at a time but now it doesn't take much of a hit to cause them...slight scrapes do it. I actually have a small bruise on the back of my hand that looks like that.

I haven't seen one convincing bit of evidence of a CVA, but it's highly plausible that he may have had a stent placed that day at WR.

13. I agree. Hard for blood to clot when on blood thinners.

Thus, that's an impressive hematoma. I wouldn't blame the lab tech for it as they are scrupulous in locating where to insert a needle.

It just seems to fit. It's just a theory, but remember how after that first trip to Walter Reed his first few public appearances he did not move his right arm normally when speaking and gesticulating. He let it hang at his side or fixed it on the podium. Sorry to keep harping on this.

In the journal article below, look at figures 1 - 5, especially placement of the distal bands, then look again at the pattern of the possible bruising.

Use that for blood pressure monitoring during some procedures that need more accuracy and immediacy than a cuff allows. Although I think it is more on the inside of the wrist for that.

Spouse's BIL had the same bruising pattern after picking him up from the ER after his Stent Implant. Same for my MIL after picking her up from the ER many years ago, when she had Stents implanted.
