"I was hitch-hiking back to my college in Upstate New York, and the most amazing thing happened to

me".

That phrase from countless Penthouse and Hustler "letters to the editor" may be equated with the often-used DU meme utilized by "new" posters: "Let me start by saying that I'm a liberal democrat..."

To those RWers lurking poorly here, let me just explain to you that many of us have been around for years here and can smell one of your posts...

Here are some hints:

Of COURSE you're a liberal democrat...we all are that's why we were allowed to sign up and sign the terms of service agreement.

Run up your post count over in Sports or the Lounge and TAKE YOUR TIME...perhaps two or three election cycles might do.

Don't start by criticizing the President if he or she is a Dem. Start by saying horrible things about Cheney or Reagan IF YOU CAN! We understand that that's really difficult for you to do, but you're going to have to try. First, however, wipe the Cheetos off your hands.

Compliment the poster you are answering. Say that you agree 100%, or words to that effect. Quote from Thom Hartman or old Michael Kinsley editorials.

One last thing, don't be yourself.

...I mean, you gotta admit, his birth certificate DOES look forged.

Plus, I hear his gay Muslim lover is going to make me get gay married if Obama is reelected.

As a liberal democrat, I feel betrayed.

I'm no fan of Romney or his fantastic policies that will help all Americans, but I think he might be the lesser of two evils.

Dems for Romney! Who's with me!?

I think none of my first posts were "I'm a liberal Democrat." I think that was kind of a given, being on DU and all.

I delivered a pizza to a house full of really hot 20-year-olds.... <continue on with raunchy orgy-filled story> ... And after we had all caught our breath, showered, and got dressed again, let me say that because I'm such a liberal democrat, I piled them all into my van and took them to get registered to vote.

between RWs and liberals/progressives left standing behind as the party ran to the right to catch up to the republicans. God forbid you should ever react to us as anything but naughty children.

Is Romney talk.

"Sniffing out" RW lurkers is paranoia.

Longevity on DU means nothing to me. Content of the posts is what matters. A new person can bring every bit as much to the table as an old vet. Longtime posters do not have a monopoly on progressive thinking.

The right calls anyone that doesn't tow the FOX line a liberal. We know that isn't true. So why are people here falling into the same trap?

By the way, I invite folks to check my post history. Tell me if you "sniff" anything.
