I gave his campaign a good chunk of my stimulus check. I was glad I could afford to do so.

Markey is a classy guy and a decent man and Kennedy will have more opportunities ahead if he wants them. I don’t think you learn anything without a little adversity along the way.

I'm wondering if he may find himself even in a cabinet position if Biden wins? I wonder if that would appeal to him?

I am praying his congressional seat falls into safe hands.

Some that are running are questionable. So far my candidate is leading. We are a very blue district.

He would have easily re-won his congressional seat.

Congrats to Markey - a good Democratic senator.

My district was a shoe in. He left us behind. I am disappointed he chose to leave us. I voted for him to represent me.

Now we shall see who takes it.

Bobby did it in 1968, and Teddy did it in 1980.

Bobby and Ted may have come away unscathed by those runs, but I have a feeling Joe has damaged himself politically. This run was unnecessary, and reeked of hubris and entitlement.

Then Ted could have ran in 1984 instead. Perhaps his 1980 run changed the world forever.

But he didn't have the natural charisma of John and Bobby. I don't think he could ever have won on a national stage.

He probably could have beaten Ford. I doubt he would have been re-elected against Reagan though.

And beaten Ford, I don't think Reagan would have run against him. Could be wrong. It would have depended on how well Ted handled Iran (if it would have happened under him).

I was bitter at Kennedy for many years, but looking back, I don’t think Reagan’s victory in 1980 was avoidable.

I love Joe Kennedy, but this primary was silly. Markey is a gem for our country who has done nothing to elicit a primary.

Nothing about this race made sense.

Markey was a popular progressive. He did not deserve a challenger.
