How much do they really tell us? They are a snapshot in time, but that is about it.
One candidate is trying to divide our country and tear it apart and another candidate is trying to bring us together and unite the country. Which one is best for the country? That is the most basic question facing the voters in November.
I don't know what role or what impact the polls have on the process? What is their worth?
They do get a little tiresome.

(16,616 posts)For me, it's psychological. I loved following the polls when Biden was +12. The notion that Trump is edging into Biden's lead is sickening to me, in light of what Trump's done to this country and all of us.

(32,017 posts)I dont deny that the only poll that counts is the one conducted on November 3, but I want to see these snapshots in time because I am interested in patterns and trends. Thats not everyones cup of tea, admittedly, but I cant ever recall being tired of seeing poll threads. In fact, I would like to see more of themparticularly battleground state polls and Senate race polls.

(8,922 posts)"the polls are tightening" and then they show polls that look good for Biden.
This morning they showed a visual that had Trump leading Biden by 52-42 in Michigan, then talked about Biden opening up a 10 point lead in Michigan. I'm suspicious the visual wasn't wrong accidentally. It appears to me they are doing everything they can to promote a tightening race which is actually barely changing, if at all (based on all the numbers I have been seeing).

(16,370 posts)What I am tired of is people who seem to think polls cant be talked about outside the context of their own 2016 PTSD.
Its basically: Well the polls werent right in 2016 so theyre never going to be right ever again so dont talk about them, theyre meaningless... etc.
Lock him up.
(6,928 posts)The oRange Viru$$ia wants to gut Social Security, Medicare and your Affordable-Care-Act plans must be more widely known than it is now. When over 70% are against any cut to them, it makes no sense they don't realize if they vote for the feaRmongering tyRant, it's like they chose to cut their own throat!!
Get out there and inform everyone: Flyers, posters on electric posts, et al! Phone work, register young voters and make them vow to go vote like their future depends on it (Climate Change will be their problem, if not already there).
