By Brad Reed
President Donald Trump on Wednesday threw a tantrum about a new Lincoln Project ad that mocked him for scoring lower television ratings for the Republican National Convention than Democratic rival Joe Biden.
The ad in question was released on Tuesday and it features a female narrator needling the president for getting embarrassing TV ratings for his RNC speech compared to the TV ratings scored by Biden one week earlier.
The ad also taunted Trump by pointing out that even Fox News said you were low energy, and aired a clip of host Chris Wallace saying that Trumps speech didnt seem to have the bite of his more successful addresses.

If he does lose and the courts come after him, he will have one big one off the rector scale, and end his ass. And like the 185,000 plus he dont give a shit about. I will not give a shit for him. I will party like never before, maybe even end up spewing. And I quit that crap 25 years ago. I may blow it out as I did for my end of enlistment in the Navy. That was a gut buster, head splitter.

He may even fake it to put that scenario in motion. With the White House doctor in his pocket it would be easy to do.
With doctor/patient privilege, he could be out of the country before anyone knows.
But until then, he is depending on Putin and DeJoy.

(8,090 posts)Republicans disgusted by Trump and those in the middle who can't make up their minds. That Democrats find the ads entertaining is a nice bonus. If they add O'Donnell to the mix, it will become a battle of strong personalities. Why do that when Fat Nixon is hanging himself everytime he opens his mouth? Let O'Donnell do her own thing that she does so well.

(4,690 posts)Weve ... been doing this with a purpose, Madrid said. These ads have been running in limited runs as we check the analytics to see how the response is. And now, in the last 80, 90 days, its all about execution. So were now putting the money and the firepower behind it in eight key states where we think it will make a difference by moving Republican votes.
This digital ad campaign will involve spending $1 million on social media sites, direct email and search engines to reach voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia. Voters in those states will see eight different commercials that the Lincoln Project made. Some of the ads have already aired on television and they have all been released online where they have collectively earned over 10 million views.

(9,082 posts)Television ads
The Lincoln Project has produced a number of anti-Trump and pro-Biden television advertisements. The Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin called the project's ads "devastating for several reasons: They are produced with lightning speed, and thereby catch the public debate at just the right moment; they hammer Trump where he is personally most vulnerable (e.g., concerns about his vigor, concerns about foreign corruption); and they rely to a large extent on Trump himselfhis words and actions." About two-thirds of the group's television advertisements focus on the 2020 presidential election, but the Lincoln Project has also created ads backing Democrats in other races, such as an ad in Montana promoting Governor Steve Bullock's Senate candidacy against incumbent Republican Steve Daines. Additionally, they have released videos attacking Republican Senators Cory Gardner, Martha McSally, Thom Tillis, Susan Collins, Joni Ernst and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, all of whom are up for reelection in 2020, as enablers of Trump.

Plus it keeps people your serving safer.

(14,558 posts)We do need police, and they need to be funded with public (tax) monies, because they are a public good.
By way of reforms:
First, we need to impose serious civilian oversight with teeth. The unions can't retain the power to put bad cops back on the beat.
Next, the current mentality of the police seems to be that they are at war and we are the enemy. This 'warrior' culture needs to be changed to one of 'serve and protect.' We are not the enemy.
There are some rather alarming reports, generated from FBI sources, that suggest that many urban police departments have been infiltrated by white supremacists. These people need to be rooted out and fired.
Police cars need to be fitted with dash cams that offer at 360 degree view, and every officer needs to have a body cam, which needs to be on at all times when they are interacting with the public (they can turn off when they are in the restroom, but the rest of the time, even at lunch, it stays on).
Those are the things I believe need to be done to have police forces that actually do what they should be doing, which is to serve and protect the populace in their respective jurisdictions.
Hence my post to which you replied 'What'.
