Dr. Jha and the American expatriate in the Swiss segment both have some incisive and damning commentary about the differences between America and these other systems. Americans bear a such predatory perspective of other humans and such a repulsion of lower socio-economic classes -- which is thoroughly mixed with racism -- that it prevents us from adopting a more egalitarian and humane system.

Some of us have been using this same information and working for universal health care for a long time - during which, I suspect, PBS has been cashing checks from those players who profit from our system.

It was a very in-depth exploration of a wide range of universal health care systems in various different countries, and compared them to the systems here.
I can't remember the name of it right now, but it was very informative.
So no, I don't think that they're ten years too late.
Edited to add: It was called Sick Around the World on Frontline, and aired in 2008.

is VERY expensive, and you need to pay in cash of front before getting reimbursed.
