....Cawthorn is a 25-year-old Henderson County resident whose age and compelling story of surviving a nearly fatal auto accident — he was partially paralyzed and uses a wheelchair — led the GOP to give him four minutes of speaking time during the Republican National Convention on Aug. 26.

Davis, 62, is a retired Air Force colonel from Asheville and former chief prosecutor of alleged terrorists held at the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His 2007 resignation from that job over his concerns that political pressures and the use of torture would make trials unfair got national headlines......

Please read article. This is going to be a significant victory when we take this one. Col. Moe Davis is a man of integrity. He’s a scholar and a veteran. Cawthorn is pretty much a Nazi and that is not hyperbole.

Cook, Sabato, Gonzales and Politico all rate this at SAFE-R.

According to my model, Deborah Ross (NC-2) and Kathy Manning (NC-6) are already expected to win, Pat Timmons-Goodson (NC-8) is competitve and Cynthia Wallace (NC-9) is a stretch.

by the Lynda Bennett crowd. He also has alienated some in the Christian community with his aggressive sexual tactics with young girls and women who had attended his prior ‘motivational’ speeches. He’s way more of a player than one would expect and he uses his disability as bait.

If people watch the debates Cawthorn will be seen for soulless Nazi he is. He really is uneducated and was a poor student.

I am seeing more and more Republicans Against Trump, Veterans Against Trump, and Christians Against Trump bumperstickers around Henderson County this past month.

I don't see as many Cawthorn signs, and I'm seeing Moe Davis signs and large Vote Democratic signs along with Biden Harris signs. I don't see near as many Trump bumper stickers as 2016.

Cawthorn is a sleazy little tool, being groomed by Meadows (another tool), andhe is not all that popular. Many of the newcomers to the area are empty nesters in their fifties, looking to set up for retirement.

I'd say this area is transitioning. And, frankly, now is not the time for a college dropout to offer his "wisdom" for governing.

Moe Davis
Cal Cunningham
Roy Cooper
Biden/Harris

Having all of Asheville (Buncombe County) back makes a huge difference.

The last time all of Asheville was in the district, Shuler won in 2010. And that was in a very tough year for Dems.

This is a winnable race.
