(15,682 posts)at a table next to John Lithgow's. (I wonder if he had started writing this book at that point.) My husband was star stuck and embarrassing. I am seldom impressed by anyone. I just wanted to get out of the restaurant before my husband embarrassed me more.

(3,321 posts)Not sure why, but I think of him as our American John Cleese.
Both supremely talented - maybe that's why.

(16,844 posts)Both are wonderfully talented. I also thought Lithgow was British for a long time.

(2,270 posts)of Mr. Lithgow and have been practically forever. Since Ricochet at minimum. Man, he does comedy, drama and makes a great villain too. Can never forget his Twilight Zone episode. Heartbreaking. Now that I know he's "one of us" (didn't know) I like him even MORE

(1,945 posts)Played a conflicted attorney that was P Mason's mentor. Was really good, as usual. What surprised me was that his son, Ian Lithgow, was also in the series. He played the son of the attorney. The thing that made me look to see who this younger actor was, was the voice. I literally thought John Lithgow was dubbing in the voice for the son, it sounded so much like John. Really threw me for a few minutes, until I looked at the cast and saw that the voice must run in the family!
