Must read excerpt from Lawrence O'Donnell. Repost everywhere.

Lawrence O’Donnell:
“Jeffrey Goldberg’s new report in The Atlantic tells one of the ugliest stories ever told about Donald Trump, and it begins with that ugly confection on the top of Donald Trump’s head that is designed to hide what for Donald Trump is a painful truth. In trying to hide that truth, Donald Trump reveals so very much of who he is. In trying so desperately to hide the truth about how much hair actually grows on Donald Trump’s head, he combs over the spots of his skull that he doesn’t want you to see, and the crown he creates is so absurdly elaborate and obviously fragile that it screams a constant warning of the fragility of the ego that needs to create that ridiculous lie on the top of his head. And when Donald Trump enters, his hair is lying to you before he opens his mouth. Donald Trump’s hair tells you, here is a man who will lie to you and does not care how obvious and ridiculous his lies are. Donald Trump’s hair gives you the shortest shortcut you could ask for in measuring his insecurity. And then he speaks, and tells you how smart he is, so you know he’s wildly insecure about how smart he isn’t, and as he goes on to compliment himself about everything, you know he’s wildly insecure about everything. Everything about Donald Trump is as insecure as the hair he has tortured into position on the top of his head, and we know tonight that hair is more important to Donald Trump than life and death, the life and death of others, the lives and deaths of American soldiers buried in a cemetery in France that Donald Trump refused to visit because it was raining and he worried about the fragility of his hair. The current commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the United States of America was afraid that his hair could not endure raindrops in a place where American soldiers endured so much more, and so many made the ultimate sacrifice.”

I just finished watching the entire series of The West Wing. I didn't remember how much Lawrence O'Donnell participated in the series, as script writer and producer (and playing Josiah Bartlet's father) until I watched the entire series again. Lawrence really has a way with words.

at one point.

So in addition to his lousy diet and his daily 3/4 case consumption of diet coke, he is also engulfed daily in a cloud of extra hold hair spray (does he wear a mask then?). On rare occasions I will spritz a couple of pumps on my hair. But the fine mist leaves my vanity a little sticky which I hate. Now imagine that daily mist falling on a carpet, the chair back, the surrounding area.

Every day, year after year after year. How much has he inhaled? It's overwhelming.

... Chump could have his own custom-made toupee that would look so good and real the nobody would even guess it's fake. Celebrities and TV personalities have wig-makers and make-up artists at their disposal for this kind of vanity that most of us would never have access to.

All of this daily bullshit he goes through to conceal his baldness (that nobody cares about but him) would be completely unnecessary. My God, the mind boggles!

angry. My family has served with honor in wars throughout the history of this republic and bled for this country. My father was in the Pacific Theater during WWII, and he saw combat.

There is NO excuse, NONE, for saying that soldiers, sailors, marines or airmen that die in service of this republic are 'losers.'

I wasn't any better-looking with hair than I am without. But as long as I am without, I'm going to be open about it.

Why is that such a high hurdle for some people to clear?

How long has it been since hair was considered an irreducible sign of virility? Didn't Mr. Clean put an end to that? Doesn't every shaven-bald athlete in the world give lie to that perception?

is equally pathological. It has clearly contributed to his rejection of using a mask in the midst of a deadly pandemic, and mocking those who sensibly comply with the guidelines. His poor example and terrible massaging on this have undoubtedly caused tens of thousands of needless deaths, above and beyond those that resulted from his general incompetence and criminal negigence in the early days of the pandemic.
