BUT in times like this, I agree with you that the sources, especially all the sources for the Atlantic article, have a patriotic duty to waive their right to anonymity and speak openly and on the record about what they witnessed.

I do not understand why they are not doing this, without prompting. Are they afraid of Trump? What the hell could he do to them at this point? Do they still have a warped sense of loyalty to the office of the president? In that case, why are they talking to reporters on the sly?

It's a huge mystery to me.
