Howard Dean's view of Facebook

Text:

Facebook needs to be shut down. They are a clear and parent Danger to the United States and to people all over the world ( Rohingya, Jews, African Americans, US soldiers, women all over the world).

but how in hell anyone could retain a FB account after what they did in 2016 and continue to do now is beyond me. I think it's a patriotic duty to get off FB and find some other way to interact with family and friends.

Not really.

There are plenty of other ways to keep in touch with loved ones electronically that don't involve participating in Zuckerberg's right wing social engineering platform.

was a neat idea that has gone bad. I agree with Howard Dean. It’s benefits fall way too far short of it’s costs to a stable, balanced and equitable for all society. Shut it down.

This was done to AT&T more than once.
Monopolies are bad, we (should) know this by now.

violent scumbag use it to carry out violent acts and not doing anything to stop it.

It's not really an issue of competition or prices.

and force competition by dividing control.
This is software, not too hard to do.
I would wager they already have a plan for this.
Why else invite regulation?
This would kill the co. if done on it's own.(investors)
Not so if forced.
As a whole where is the competition?
I don't see it, It should be there.
Prices and value are different words for the same thing.(wrongly)

FB may be a new form of monopoly, but can be dealt with.

*sorry about the rant, I hate FB

There was myspace . And people can create their own websites.

Again, the problem doesn't seem to be one of competition .

The key is financial competition not technical.
I can't see any viable competition there.
Some monopolies happen naturally, this looks like one.
Stuck between fiduciary and social responsibility.
The importance of the function of a business is also important.
At&T went from luxury to utility.
Ford went fom curiosity to (almost) necessity.

an interface for:
News
Messaging
Sharing
Advertising
Seperate companies doesn't mean they can't still function.
When they say it's too hard this is baloney.
One Co. as network
one as adverts
one as news aggregator
one as whatever
regulate the ownership & interaction
As I said they likely have a plan for this, make em do it
Nobody loses any work or value.
Just a bit of profit at the top.
