I'm almost certain that the planned defunding announced this morning was no coincidence relating to the timing of the Atlantic piece.
He needed to play the hero to show how much he loves the losers and suckers in the military.

Actually, the original announcement about defunding Stars & Stripes was back in January or February.

I wonder when they originally planned to perform the "rescue"? It's obvious his hand was forced on the timing being today.
