(22,440 posts)What happened? Did some big boats cause large wakes that sank the smaller vessels?
Or were the sinking boats just poorly maintained?
Please don't tell me that a yellow submarine caused it.

(68,449 posts)massive wakes that they swamped the little boats. The tweet I read also said few people bothered to slow down to reduce the waves, even when some boats started having trouble.
I have to admit that I hope this outcome puts an end to the endless Trump boat parades.

(22,440 posts)These Trumpers never think of anyone but themselves so it wouldn't surprise me if Trumpers in large boats caused large wakes and overwhelmed the smaller boats. i wouldn't be surprised if they thought the people in the small boats should look out for themselves.

(1,962 posts)and swamp myself and my siblings under on purpose. Of course the sailboats floated, my dad was WWII Navy PT boat veteran, and we were all competitive swimmers, swim instructors and lifeguards. We were not in danger and it was fun, but I think anyone with any boat experience knew what would happen. The people in the bigger boats were just being entitled rich mega assholes.
Also, I used to live in Austin, my daughter was born there 30 years ago. Watching this made me sad, not for the idiots in the boats, but for the spirit of the fun liberal music and art loving city I used to live in. Yes, I got to vote for Ann Richards. Fond memories.
Good luck DU Texans, may the blue wave 2020 look like Lake Travis did today.
