POSTMASTER DEJOY AND WIFE PAY DC FOR SEVERAL YEARS OF UNDERPAYING DC PROPERTY TAXES

https://www.wusa9.com/amp/article/news/local/dc/dc-penalizes-postmaster-dejoy-and-for-undepayment-of-property-taxes/65-678571d9-a5e6-449b-b77b-113aee35c9f1

Postmaster Louis DeJoy and his wife, US Ambassador to Canada Aldana Wos, admit “error” in claiming DC property tax exemption for nine years

WASHINGTON — The DC Office of Tax and Revenue found current Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and his wife, Ambassador Aldana Wos, underpaid several years of property taxes after they inaccurately claimed a Homestead Tax deduction since 2012 for their Connecticut Avenue condominium in Northwest DC.

Postmaster DeJoy and Ambassador Wos maintain their primary residence in Greensboro, North Carolina, according to a family spokesperson. In order for DC residents to get a Homestead Tax Exemption, they must live at their DC address full-time, or at least 183 days per year.

In DeJoy's dystopian mess of a postal service.

Not happening here, what with bags of mail being caught on video in California being dumped in parking lots!

I will vote in person, early. And I hope everyone who is able to will mask up and do likewise!

It may be worth audits, perhaps. Soon, hopefully soon.

It's not like they made the same mistake, over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

We've all done the same thing at one time or other over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Now, if it were 9 years, I can see making a big deal out of cheating on taxes by making an error

With ZERO fear of reprisal.

You know, just like people of color, kids who are caught with a joint in their sock, or the vast majority who are not uber wealthy.

Presuming his election, I hope he addresses this inadequate flaw in our "justice" system. Said to be the finest such system in the world, there is this flaw: the LAWS are only implemented against those who do not have a significant amount of money, or important titles.

This is clearly WRONG and must change! The American people need a sense of REAL justice, to know that our precious justice system is really working, and this isn't it.

This double standard for the wealthy must end. I am hopeful Joe and his administration will take steps to end this blatant disregard for justice!

And they should NOT be let out of jail on bail, in my opinion, as the flight risk AND risk that they will continue to damage many people's lives through their seeming irresistible compulsion to engage in illegal behavior. Lock them up and do not let them out on bail until they are tried and either convicted or exonerated.

Coddling white collar criminals, especially in the political arena is PRECISELY why we have this traitor in the White House and his team of mobsters raping our country in plain sight, with no consequences. This MUST stop!

In Illinois, a married couple both have to be 65 to get the exemption.
He's only 63 now!
Exemption must kick in at 55 there.
Or, they cheated on that, too.

Sad that this is what we have come to expect from Repuke officials. Grift, grift, grift, every way they can.

Incomprehensible to me. How much more money do these criminals need? I believe this indicates some really serious mental pathology.

My wife is 65. I'm not 64 for 2 weeks or so.
We've lived in this house since 1987.
They only required one birth certificate, but I looked up the law/rules. We could have tried to game the system with her BC, but why take the risk of breaking the law.
But, I suspect no such assessment was made by these 2.

I just can't even begin to keep up with all the Repuke grifters and their schemes.

I believe Putin hacked Repuke's emails and other documents and that he has kompromat on them.

Here's a thought: what if Repukes, like other normal human beings, lived with integrity? Then there would be no kompromat.
