https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/local/williamson/2020/09/05/williamson-coronavirus-numbers-plummet-after-change-state-metric/5714489002/Williamson County experienced a sharp decrease in reported active cases of the coronavirus on Thursday following a change in the way the state health department reports coronavirus data.
Active cases in the county dropped from 1,044 on Wednesday to 306 Thursday. The rate of the spread also plummeted to 0.15%, the lowest ever, after hovering at 0.5% for weeks.
The Tennessee Department of Health changed the way it calculates coronavirus recovers by reducing the time frame for marking cases as "recovered" from 21 days to 14 days which contributes to the decrease in the county and across the state.
TN news outlets love to flaunt "recoveries" from covid, but, imo, those cases are likely anything but recovered. This could well be happening in other states as well to please lard ass.
NOTE: Williamson County is in the Nashville area.

(92,138 posts)1. The ONLY way to determine if someone has recovered is by testing that person if they are negative,
not by the elapsing of TIME

(51,550 posts)2. What a disgusting sham. Nobody with symptoms recovers in 14 days.
And most deaths occur at the 21-30 day mark. Many of their "recoveries" will be found in the morgue.
The only way to confirm actual recovery is for the patient to have back to back negative Covid-19 tests.
