(13,896 posts)I would ever have him this long. He had diabetes years ago and I reversed it with a lot of help from D.U.ers.
Now hes been battling thyroid the last 4 years.
Cant imagine life without him.

(15,805 posts)I've always had a soft spot for gray kitties like my Smokey, the first cat I had as a young adult out I my own. Those are little pink jelly bean toes are almost hidden under all his flooffiness.

(13,896 posts)Smarter than most dogs and always enjoyed being held or touching.

(114,547 posts)She was my last kitty because I don't want to risk having one outlive me. Cats grieve when they lose somebody. She meowed at closed closet doors for 3 years after the tomcat died, thinking he'd been shut in there.

(53,410 posts)and for the same reason. My cat is only 7 years old and in great health. Hes never been sick a day in his life. He and I get along beautifully.

(114,547 posts)There are a couple of feral tuxies who chase each other across my flat roof for the patter of little cat feet and there's a Kliban cat owned by a neighbor who comes by for conversation and scritches.

(38,524 posts)Put to sleep at the oncologists. What I did not anticipate was my other senior kittys digging under the fence to go look for him. Kitty 1 would sneak out if anyone left the gate open, but Kitty 2 never tried to do that, until Kitty 1 passed. So it was clear why he did it, and totally heartbreaking.
When this year Kitty 2 had an untreatable terminal condition, I had a mobile euthanasia service come to the house. The other 2 kitties were able to see his poor little body. I was afraid it would upset them, but it did just the opposite. They knew Kitty 2 had passed and were at peace with it.
Kitty 1 and 2 were among the most wonderful cats Ive ever known and I miss them terribly.

(13,896 posts)I could tell about this boys life. He truly is a very very smart cat. Affectionate to everyone including visitors.
He watched over my Mom when I was out running errands till her passing. He greeted you at the door if you were gone 10 minutes or 3 hours. All of us.
He loved his backyard and never really strayed except to the next door neighbors to see their cat which he would go in visit and have a treat and come right back home. He loved to chase the squirrels up the tree.
Hes always been around to cheer me up when I was sad or sick. For 19 years hes been in my bed every night.
We have a special bond and when I say hes the best...
I mean it.
This is us! 19 years and hoping for more❤️
