This is a research technique used for determining internet credibility. Although targeted for students, WE can all benefit from this.

(129,730 posts)I used to teach a couple of college courses and discussed how necessary it was to check internet sources this way rather than relying on one web site or Wikipedia and calling it good. Doing this kind of double-checking also keeps people from being suckered by phony or satirical pieces, which happens way too often, even here.

(5,961 posts)and the teaching of critical thinking skills has been systematically eliminated from secondary education in the US
Critical thinking along with CIVICS have to be incorporated in all curriculum going forward.
I'm starting to suspect the decades long dumb down of students was possibly intentional.

Then I have to pin them up there to go back and forth - I hate those tiny site logos and often need to hover to remember which are which...oh yeah, it was the red one, the lightening bolt, the block "O", the purple star...hahaha.
