The peaceful demonstrations have to stop..............

They are Trump's only hope. I have two friends who are Repubs. They have been disgusted with Trump. They were going to stay home this election. They are fired up for Trump because of the demonstrations.. Really, 100 days in Portland are way too much. I support BLM but cool it until Nov, 4th.

Michael Steele on MSNBC has talked the same.

The problem is somehow Democrats lost it while they are in charge, I mean lose power when they shouldn't.

We had Clinton and then idiot Bush. Then we had Obama and super idiot Trump.

As Democrats we have got to find a way to hold onto power.

But it should be noted that in each case, the defeat owed a good deal to the 'lefter than thou' setting up the 'not a dime's worth of difference between Democrats and Republicans' cry, and working to damage the Democratic candidate under that banner. Nader gave the country Bush, and though some prefer to deny it, Sanders did enough damage to Mrs. Clinton, with ludicrous charges of corruption and worse, to make a difference, and to turn the nation over to the cheap thug with his hairspray crown.

Aside from going to the White House to protest, you would not know there were any protests. Occasionally there is something at the Capitol or the Court but safe.....my God, there is nothing going on. There were a couple nights of craziness instigated by assholes and the Administration but since, basically peaceful protest, yet from what people see in the news, I am asked if I feel safe.

I've been leary of them since about the second week. I remember all too well how the demonstrations overplayed the hand in 1968 and we very narrowly lost the election to Nixon. The rest is history. Bad history.
Yes, I know Nixon was the challenger. It makes no difference. I gives trump an issue where he had none before.
At this point there is nothing good that can come out of it for our side.

....that says they are going to vote for Trump because of Portland was going to vote for him anyway. Don't let them bullshit you.

Ask them this, if these protests are going on under Trump now then what is going to be different in his second term?

Also ask, if they don't blame the current unrest on the guy who has been in the White House for the last 3 and a half years then how in the hell can they blame it on a guy that isn't even in office yet?

They are lucky they aren't trying to spray that bullshit on me. I have a much lower tolerance for it than you do.

Biden orSen. Harris should politely ask the protesters to quit by saying "The nation has heard you, WE have heard you. Your job is done and we will make sure that justice will prevail for the minorities."

That will make it look like the Democrats can address the issue more effectively than the republicans.

They LOVE this narrative of chaos in the streets. Not to mention invoking BLM to describe white boys throwing shit and burning shit down while showing clips of Black people protesting nonviolently and framing them as rioters. LBR they want this chaos so the race can be tight and election night to be exciting.
