He was more of a friend of my friends, but the few times I went to concerts with him he came off as a solid guy and a talented musician. Glad to see he retained his senses to the end:

May he rest in peace, knowing that all of us will carry on the fight against trump.

(2,023 posts)Like him, I'm hoping I'll last long enough to cast my SECOND vote against that orange thing in the White House. And also, I'm hoping that Ruth Bader Ginsburg will last until January. December probably won't be long enough. If she keels over on Dec. 24, for example, when the turtle has about 10 days left as Senate majority leader and the orange thing has about 27 days left in the White House, I just know the turtle will immediately call a special session of the Senate and ram through the orange thing's nominee in RECORD time. Never mind the raw, naked hypocrisy when you consider what happened to the Merrick Garland nomination, they won't care, they'll do it anyway. So RBG has to last until January.
My condolences for the loss of your friend.

(18,628 posts)It seems improbable, and it's certainly unethical, but we both know Moscow Mitch will push some right wing kook bag through in a matter of days, even if he has to pay political hell.

(19,201 posts)It's difficult when we start seeing people our own age disappear. I think about that a lot more lately than I ever did before. He graduated in '68 and attended Kent State. He must have been there for the National Guard Massacre. I know I'll never forget the moment I heard about Kent State. I remember where I was, who I was with, and what time of day it was. It was one of the defining events that really truned popular opinion against the war in Vietnam. Mr. Fulmer certainly lived during "interesting" times, that's for sure. He sounded like a wonderful man. The world is worse off for having lost him.
