You said it won’t matter to his cult, as if they are the only voters that do matter in this election.

You do realize of course that there are a lot of voters between Trump cultists and Biden voters who might care, right? So in answer to your question, that’s what it has to do with it. Try to be less myopic.

Those are the ones outside of his cult who may be more centrist. Sorry to confuse you with my response. I live in a very red county in WI - not a single trump sign was removed yesterday or today. However, one family now have both a Biden and Trump sign in the yard. I consider that a win.

signs. As I walked by with my middle finger in the air, I fantasized about spray-painting a message in their grass, or any number of other things I really would not do, but found it refreshing to consider. It was irritating to see, but then...

I realized if all these Trumpsters would identify themselves like this, I'd surely know WHO I needed to totally avoid. It is as if they've branded a sign on their face that signficies A for ASSHOLE.

What about the emails?

They are denying that the president ever said that, and they would deny it if they heard him say it in person; in that case they would say he was just joking....

Do whatever. Phone banks. Knock on doors. GOTV. Send out fliers. Seal envelopes. And bring 10 people with you to volunteer. This is a base election. We can’t count on Trump voters to come over to our side. We must find our people and get them to the polls. Too many stayed home on 2016 for numerous reasons and we have to reverse that!

Nothing will affect his base of voters, but there were many people who voted for Trump in 2016 who are not part of that rabid base. Their votes can be changed. In that sense, his "loser" remarks about the military will have a real impact on some voters.

Most presidential elections swing on voters who might vote for either candidate. They are not part of any particular base, and can be influenced by even very small issues.

We forget that sometimes.

some of those voters back to the Trump camp. Many of them voted for Trump or didn't vote because they didn't "like" Hillary Clinton. Elections swing on voters who vote for odd, inexplicable reasons, really.

Some of us tend to ridicule the very voters we need in 2020. That is a huge mistake, and a lesson we should have learned in 2016. People who post here about the need to attract SOME Trump voters get stomped on strongly by some DUers.

Elections are very tricky things. We need to be smart about them. The goal is to seat our candidates in their offices. Once that happens, our candidates can go about doing the things that need to be done. If we lose, we lose that opportunity.

We will need some voters who identify as Republicans to vote for Biden and for Democrats down the ticket as well. We need to be careful not to insult them into casting an anger vote for Trump.

Will we manage to do that? I have no idea.

There was a lot of ugliness in 2016 towards Sanders and his supporters. It's not been forgiven or forgotten.

While most voted for Hillary and Dem candidates in 2016 and 2018, that contingent of Dems is growing and we insult them at our peril.

It won't be one thing that will end his presidency. There is the cumulative effect of his many cruel, insensitive comments. His remarks about the military could be the final straw for some indecisive voters, though it is hard to believe that they couldn't see who he was all along.

His cult-like base is thoroughly brainwashed, however, and being everything negative about Trump is viewed as a conspiracy, they aren't likely to change their minds.

These are major scandals, but all this does is chip away at his support. Joe is up by 8, this might push it to 9.

But more importantly, Trump is spending another week playing defense and the clock is running out.

The deplorables will never lead him but they alone won't win him re-election. Someone said it might only cost him a point or two well at this point he can't afford a point or two.

Not saying Trump can't win and he will certainly will try to cheat but this is bad news at a really bad time.
