Corporations and Swiss banks probably threatened to leave or otherwise take revenge if it passed.
I kind of liked the idea. That way smaller companies would then not have to cough up the same minimum wage as megacorporations.
The current imbalance would be more justifiable if the grotesquely overpaid executives suffered proportionate punishment when the company does poorly. Instead they tend to float away on their golden parachutes while their underpaid employees stand in the unemployment line.
