Sometimes I like to take a more extended look back to see a longer view of the runway behind us, from which we take off, anew, every morning. The intense ticker where several graphics containing various metrics cycle through mainly the daytime hours of news coverage has abated somewhat. Unfortunate. The numbers are growing to some downright shattering levels now. 190-thousand-AND-COUNTING by now. It rolled over into 190-thousand sometime over the weekend. Sunday, I'd guess.

What that tells me is just the nearly-incomprehensibly-high level of significant OTHER news that's crowded every hour - from BLM rallies, and civil unrest, to massive forest fires (and of course, the ongoing flood of constant lies and distortions and distractions from the donald). The weekend before this last one? We were just coming down from the last two conventions, with the RNC concluding on Thursday of that previous week. And a week later, by THIS past Thursday, a whole new shitstorm began with that article in The Atlantic - the "Suckers & Losers" edition.
