Multiple residents across three University of Michigan residence halls tested positive for COVID-19 less than a week into the fall semester.

One resident of South Quad Residence Hall, two residents of Bursley Residence Hall and one resident of North Quad Residence Hall tested positive for the virus over the weekend, according to notices from Danielle Sheen, executive director of the Environment, Health & Safety Department, obtained by The Michigan Daily.

All four students were relocated from their respective residence halls after receiving their results, and spaces where they were present have been disinfected ...

4. University of Iowa: 175 more self-reported cases

OWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) — In their most recent report of COVID-19 cases on campus, the University of Iowa shared on Monday that 175 more people self-reported as positive.

Out of these new cases, 174 of them are students with the addition of one staff member.

According to the update, the university currently has a total of 1,569 self-reported cases. 15 students living on-campus are in quarantine while 97 students living on-campus are self-isolating ...

Residents at two Greek life houses at the University of Maryland are quarantining after at least four tested positive for coronavirus. Cases have surged at the College Park school in recent days.

Since the fall semester began Aug. 31, the university has identified 85 new cases of the virus among students, faculty and staff. Another 75 unverified cases have been self-reported by individuals who have been on or near the campus in the past two weeks. More than one-fifth of quarantine-designated housing units are occupied.

Some Wisconsin universities are seeing steep increases in the numbers of students and employees testing positive for COVID-19. The spikes come just after most colleges started their fall semester classes.

One hundred University residents in Barton-Lundgren Halls have been asked to relocate to another residence hall by Sept. 13 in order to open up two full halls for additional COVID-19 response, should it be needed, according to Chelsea Hamilton, senior assistant director for communications and marketing at the University, through WPGU News.

They were primarily freshman/overflow halls for women then, with Clark Hall between them housing all the lounges on their first floor and laundry facilities in the shared basement. I wonder if it's still mostly freshmen who are being moved.

San Diego State University reported another 120 confirmed or probable COVID-19 cases among its student population Friday, raising the university's total caseload to 184 since fall semester began Aug. 24.

Additionally, San Diego County public health officials confirmed multiple clusters of COVID-19 cases within the university community among students. The University of Kansas announced Wednesday that the number of positive cases resulting from compulsory testing of students arriving on campus had grown to 546, for a 2.42% overall positivity rate, according to a news release. Among fraternities and sororities, the percentage testing positive shrank from 10% to 8.38% as the houses added freshmen members who had lower rates of infection to their ranks. Nine Greek houses were places on quarantine last week.


Other Kansas colleges & universities also reporting coronavirus cases.

That's right, after seeing thousands of people die in a terrorist attack, what's more important than classes meeting as usual ?

Public elementary and secondary schools are next.

The first semester ends in about two weeks. That's my prediction.

Trump loses in November because of this, if nothing else.

Everything is about to be shut down again.

There were two massive off campus frat parties on Friday.

Atleast one student attended after testing positive and being told to quarantine. One of the frats who thre the party had also been told to quarantine due to exposure.

The University suspended 30ish students because of it, but apparently it was too extensive to be able to continue.



I said a couple of weeks ago that it would be the regular student body and not the athletes who caused issues. Football players are tracked, tested, and have their scholarships pulled if they screw up. Regular college kids are idiots who don't think they have any accountability.
