Has anyone here ever seen the movie Bob Roberts?

It would sure be good if we could get that movie out in public right now.

Just read that Tim Robbins said Bob Roberts came true, referring to Trump.

1. I think he's right on with that.

I wonder if he bailed on Sarandon because of her politics.

7. Nah, I think their relationship just ran its course

His politics aren't that different from hers. They both support Sanders. They broke up over 10 years ago, so it was before Trump.

2. Yes, I have seen it.

And it's incredible. Incredibly scary. Tim Robbins so thoroughly inhabits that character, that I've always been a bit leery of Robbins ever since. Even though I realize actors are not the people they portray.

11. Oh, my. At the very end of the clip the woman with the pearls

says, "I just wish there was a way to vote for you a hundred times" and Roberts says, "Oh, there is actually." Pause. "Just kidding."

That's both creepy and spot on right now.

Tim Tobbins brother, David Robbins wrote them.

8. I recently rewatched it with my 15 year-old daughter

That movie really was years ahead of its time.

It's sad that trust in what the truth is has fallen so low since then, though.
