TX-24: Beth Van Duyne: What Failed Response? Open It Now!
Global pandemic be damned, Beth Van Duyne wont let facts get between her campaign and the congressional seat shes desired for years dating back to her days as a deeply divisive Mayor of Irving.
Accordingly, the TX-24 Republican nominee praised the unprepared federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic in a recent interview. Her remarks were the latest in a string of comments cheering reckless efforts to reopen Texas without a plan to keep Texans safe and defeat the virus.
INTERVIEWER: More broadly on the pandemic, how do you assess both the state and federal response to it at his point overall?

VAN DUYNE: I think the president right now is looking at ways of being able to save an economy, at the same time is trying to preserve states rights, you know, over the governance of their states. I think that this is unprecedented times and no matter what decisions you make youre gonna be criticized on. And well see case studies on this for decades to come. I think right now people are interested in making sure theyve got job security, that our economy doesnt go down the tank, that theyve got access to health care. And Ive seen an administration that has been focused on that.
DCCC spokesman Avery Jaffe issued the following statement:
Its unclear where states rights fall on the scale of public health concerns among the nations leading virologists, but Beth Van Duynes shameless embrace of every aspect of Washington Republicans reckless agenda from repealing health care to reopening without a plan to keep people safe puts North Texans at risk.
