Breaking the Trump bubble with fear

It’s commonly said that Republicans use fear as a primary campaign strategy. If conservative voters are motivated by fear, perhaps we should give it to them, but use the fear of things that are very realistic. Some blunt advertising — Billboards, local TV time, online messaging targeted to these realistic fears - of what they should really be afraid of.

1. You WILL lose your Social Security. A Democrat started social security and the Republicans will end it. Do you want to live in a country where old people are everywhere with tin cans begging for coins? Trump is trying to cut the only source of funding for social security.

2. The economy WILL be in ruins. He hasn’t helped small businesses through the epidemic, only the rich have gotten richer.

3. The country YOU live in will become as corrupt and dictatorial and lacking in free speech as his hero countries of North Korea and Russia. Fear and despair will replace the shining city on the hill.

4. The chaos of 2020 will only get worse, because trump hasn’t and won’t lead us out of the epidemic or out of the downturn. He will hire and fire people that he later claims are liars or stupid and give them jobs to destroy the post office, the parks, the schools, our military.

5. Food will become scarce and expensive, and no one will help you when hurricanes fires and floods destroy your home. Farmers and insurance companies will tell you, extreme weather is making it harder to grow food or to insure your home. Trump divides us and creates new crises, instead of working together to solve problems.

6. You’ll find out in his next term that you were fooled, but you won’t be able to do anything about it. It will be too late.

That even people getting seriously hurt still back him. The cognitive dissonance is pathological. Trump still has an approval rating of 40%+.

Trump is making his base be fearful of scary people in big cities destroying the police and looting.

They don’t even see any downside of re electing him.
