Fire is moving north, away from me. We have several friends who have been evacuated.

Scary.

In Oregon we have 3 levels of evacuation readiness levels to give people time to prepare. In my case, they went straight to step 3 - Get out. On the way out I passed a fire at a lumber yard. Feels like the apocalypse out here. Now I'm in Portland, waiting to hear if my house and all my neighbors' homes and livestock are going to be ok.

Gov Brown approved an emergency conflagration declaration for the Beachie Creek, Lionshead and Holiday Farm fires burning east of Salem and Eugene.
