there also ought to be an immediate analysis of whether morbidly obese linemen in both high school and college should be allowed to play. Although the trend is for Offensive and Defensive Linemen to be thinner, in recent years to improve mobility, than say a decade ago, there still is a sliver of morbidly obese linemen especially defensive linemen. Most linemen these days are in much better athletic shape due the weight and conditioning programs. Teams recruit linemen these days to build them up from say 270 and have begun to steer away from recruiting the massive 350 pound kid in high school who needs to be trimmed down. They may carry 300+ pounds but on a developed 6-5 body . Most big time schools have concentrated heavily on nutritional development which was previously ignored.
