Trump Plaza Will Be 'Imploded' In January

Trump Plaza Will Be ‘Imploded’ In January

The Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, which opened in 1984 and closed in 2014 after years of financial struggle including a narrowly averted bankruptcy, will be “imploded” on January 29, 2021 a little more than a week after the presidential inauguration, Jersey Digs reports.

It's gonna be sweet to see Biden inaugurated and then Trump Plaza imploded one week later.

Just remove his sorry-ass name from all properties. Not much in the world is named after Hitler, yet we still remember.

the project never did sell out, and it is a ghost town now.

The colleges will come back. The Loop will once again flourish.

Chicago still has its "big shoulders". Even a devastating fire couldn't stop its incredible growth.

the whole downtown changed. under old man daley, they rolled up the sidewalks when the last evening train left for the burbs. no one would be caught dead down there.
but when the college kids came, it became a 24/7 scene.
navy pier, now. that is the opposite of that story. locals hate it, mostly.
dont know how old you are, or how long you have been gone, so sorry if you already know that stuff.

tho i was raised in the burbs, my ppl were west side irish. trips to the city were one of my biggest joys as a kid. north and narragansett. still have a couple of peeps on the oak park side.

i landed in cragin when i moved here at 25. (66 now) hated it. everyone around me was bitter that they were left behind in the white flight. so racist, which was something i had never, ever experienced. all mexicano over there now.

in rogers park now. 35 yrs. this is my real hometown. my sisters all thought i was nuts to raise my 5 kids in the city. but they are citizens of the world, every one of them. some of their kids are afraid of their own shadows.

I'm 59. Been gone too long--to Mosquito Larvae Junction, Wisconsin. Didn't know about the Goldblatt Bldg. That was great of her.

Boss Daley only cared about Boss Daley and how he could stay in power. He was J. Edgar Hoover in men's clothes. His Khrushchev-like performance at the '68 Convention didn't help anyone--in the party or otherwise. His Stalinesque tactics in the streets were an abomination too. I was surprised when Richard M. got elected. He didn't seem as menacing though.

North and Narragansett, huh? There was an IHOP near there in the late 60s. It may have been toward Harlem Ave. on the way to Kiddeland.

I'll go see if Ray Rayner is on YouTube now. Maybe I'll catch a turtle race.

that would be my ex's territory. grew up on 2nd ave, a couple blocks from the expressway. family later moved to melrose park. passed kiddieland every time we visited his mom, the witch. luckily, it was too tame for my kids, so they didnt bug.

did you know ray rayner was a horrible drunk? he wasnt pretending that he couldn't find his notes. he was drunk that early in the day.

if you are on fb at all, there is a great little group called 'chicago then and now'.

that's the kind of stuff we share in that fb group. it's tons of fun. go. even if that is all you do on fb. go.

and yeah, who could blame bozo? like w.c. fields said- never work w kids or dogs. i am sure he would have approved of drunk clowns.

i have a friend who was in a family tumbling troop called the toddling todds that were regulars. he is a musician now. the band is called the new odyssey. rly good. he plays 2 saxes at once, cuz he is bi-saxual. still does back flips last i saw him, but that was a long time ago. his brother used to be in the group when it was bigger.

my kid sis keeps in touch w them. did a great publicity shot for them, but i cant find it.
they likely play up by you. you should check them out.

I'd love to see New Odyssey. They must be hurting without gigs right now. A friend of mine is a stand-up in the Twin Cities. Good thing his wife carries the insurance.

I'll venture back to FB after the election. There should be a lot less "Komrades" paying attention once Vlad's boy is out of office.

goes by new odyssey guy. he has a couple of regular gigs up north. lives in ringwood. also has a fb page.
he is hilarious. if you read the article, his dad did stand up and had a dog act.
and apparently still does the occasional hand stand.

but ya know, fb is what you make it. i brook exactly zero bs on my page. i dont see vlad's buddies much, and when i do, on someone else's timeline, they get blocked w/o a second thought.

At least I thought I did. With an array of health issues and a daughter in college, his platform spoke my language.

After Hillary got the nomination, these groups still kept hammering at her and didn't come close to endorsing her. Then the Russian rumblings began. I figured it out when a "Canadian" with a profile pic like a supermodel (and zero friends on her page) asked me to friend her. It was mega-suspicious.

That told me that the bots from St. Pete (the wrong one) were checking me out. The day after Trump's second-place victory, I fled FB.

As Mr. Daltrey said, "We won't be fooled again".

As I said earlier, I'll go back after Election Day, just to be sure.
