If Trump spills these kind of career-destroying secrets to a REPORTER...

imagine the things he's told an experienced intelligence officer like Vladimir Putin.

Woodward calls him up and Trump's like, "Sure, let me allow you to record me telling you everything I know about this deadly, airborne virus, even though I'm going to go out there and tell the American people the exact opposite because surely THAT won't come back to bite me in the ass at a later date."

If he is THAT DUMB in private with a reporter, imagine what kind of information Putin has been able to extract from him...

And the best thing is that it realistically shows how quickly fire spreads, unlike what you normally see on TV or in a movie where people have lots and lots of time to return and rescue a puppy.

Yeah, I know that this probably didn't end with the house being totally burned down, but the spread that's shown in the clip is realistic.

Bloomberg News as of today, has moved further to the right and it is noticeable by the News and Interview segments they are pumping out. Most of Electronic Media covered Biden and Bloomberg cut it about a minute into it. When they went live to the On Air Talent, she looked like what the hell just happened.

Zero segments about the Woodward Book, only pumping the fake Wall Street Market and more Blue Sky Bullshit.

Wed Sep 9, 2020, 02:48 PM
Sep 2020

Nope.

Trump is fine with his base. They either won't hear this from Woodward or will cheer Trump for it.

Trump's base, Trump's poll numbers are where they are even though everything is out in the open. Stormy Daniels. A large group of women who accuse him of sexual assault and rape. His connections to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. His billions lost in broken companies and business ventures. His multiple wives, and his very public cheating on each of them. His name calling, mocking, and profanity --- all of this is OK with Trump's base.

A base, I might add, which considers itself conservative, moral, ethical, and deeply Christian. Trump is the living embodiment of all 7 Deadly Sins, and his religious base adores him for it.

I see no reason why people who would stick with Trump through all that would suddenly be upset about Trump's performance with COVID-19.

EarlG

25. I wouldn't bet on it
Wed Sep 9, 2020, 03:20 PM
Sep 2020

There's nothing Trump can say that would make any difference to his "base" because his base is a cult and he is the cult leader. They would literally let him grope their own kids and then thank him for it.

But we're not going to win the election by getting cult members to suddenly de-program themselves. There's still a sliding scale of Trump support, and every time a story like this comes out, some of the people who voted for him in 2016 will, if not cast a vote for Biden, at least opt to stay home.

I say career-destroying because getting caught on tape admitting that you're deliberately lying to people about a life or death issue, in any other context and with any other person, would likely destroy one's career.

One thing I believe we need to eliminate are the pardons.

Plus, no more appointing positions without the approval of congress. Who would have ever thought a President would abuse his appointment power for Postmaster General to help him win an election?

I think Woodward's an associate editor or some such title, and probably does little actual reporting now. His main role seems to be as an author, one who has had almost unprecedented access to a number of presidents. But you're right, I really can't imagine Trump being so stupid as to spill most of his beans to ... forget that, I can imagine him being that stupid.
