This will likely get me my Naivete Merit Badge, but--

is it just possible that Trump will be gone before November third?

Could he just---in a fit of whining denial---decide to "show" us that he can "take his ball and go home", i.e., announce his resignation from Mar-A-Lago?

Could enough Republicans effectively threaten Mother---and others--- that she'd damn well better get Mikey to support a 25th Amendment removal "for the good of the party"?

Could Trump "go along with" some medical justification for either a "sad, reluctant" resignation or an "unfortunate but understandable" 25th Amendment action, either of which would avoid the humiliation of him getting his ass royally kicked on election day?

but if he sees he has lost after the election, and that he can't gin up a way to stay in power, I can easily see him resign with a Pence pardon in hand before January.

He will tell his followers he had to protect himself so he could run again.

do not see that happening. They are trying to take over the country and world and need someone as crazy as Trump to pull it off. Mike won't do at this point because he too is part of this cult for better or worse. Also this is not a Democrat,so they will continue to do what they do and cover and cower to this man which is their god and king. They have waited decades and is not about lose this chance because they may never get it again.

Prosecutors in New York will pounce immediately as soon as he leaves office, be it before November 3 or in January after Biden is inaugurated. If 45 somehow cheats or steals his way to a second term, this country will not exist as we know it, so it won't matter.

and I agree with you 100%.
He's too arrogant to quit before the election (thinking "maybe, just maybe Vlad will pull it out for me again!" ).
Even though he is competing for space with "Dear Lindsey" and "Moscow Mitch" - I'm thinking he's got his head SO FAR up that "chamber of disillusionment" that he sees NO reason to quit before the election.

After the facts smack him in the face (election results just splattering orange shit everywhere!) - he'll work - well, not "work" - but rather insist his astute "aides" begin to work (in between working on their own "Resume" regarding how they've served the US Government in spite of having BunkerBoy as their supervisor) on "Plan B" - resign and Pence "pardon him" for trying to do the best for "his America".............

And then New York grabs him by those tiny little ...........

There has been talk that he has thought of resigning so Pence could pardon him. So, it wouldn't necessarily be a good thing.

Best bet is to vote in large enough numbers so he has no choice but to GTFO.

You KNOW his GIANT EGO will not allow him to even THINK (yeah, Trump "think" - serious oxymoron!) that he has a chance to lose!

He'd still have time to "resign" and have the "Pence Pardon" in his pocket after the election.

HERE'S the great thought:

After he does that - just think of the STATE OF NEW YORK people there waiting to greet him after he steps off of the plane after abandoning OUR White House while PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN is being sworn in.

PS: Will someone please check the luggage to find what has been illegally stolen from OUR White House?

He's going to come to the only option he has prior to the election.

Trump has to resign and trust he can make a deal with Pence to issue him a blanket pardon for all his past, present and future crimes to avoid federal prosecution under a newly invigorated Biden DOJ.

He can still be charged by states, so he would not escape entirely.
