Unbelievable mail from Conservative Caucus today
In their list of voter concerns to check-mark was this gem.......
"Restoration of the Fairness Doctrines to destroy Fox News and conservative talk radio" Sounds like repugs are aware that reinstating the Fairness Doctrine would insure a " Fair & Balanced " MSM, holy shit they don't want that, you know an informed public. Would hurt their gas-lighting! ![]() ![]() ![]()

1. I'm inclined to give them points for understanding
what they really stand for and what they actually want.
I mean, they're still scum, but they know what scum they are. |

3. They need to be wiped off the face of the earth by lawsuits for destroying our democracy
and instituting some sort of QAnon government of really mentally ill people.

4. I am not even sure how it would work these days
It worked back then when there were three stations doing 30 minutes of news a night. And it was only on broadcast because those were public property.
Now we have a dozen primary outlets doing 24/7 infotainment and hundreds of others providing some other kind of video content . And the lines are blurred between broadcast, cable, streaming, internet, youtube, social media etc. I don't even know what the fairness doctrine would look like now. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have it. I just am not sure it is feasible. |

5. Fairness Doctrine won't do anything about Fox
That's just fearmongering on their part, to stir up the deplorable base to fear for the continuance of their precious. Even if it were reinstated broadcasters, it'd be declared unconstitutional in this political environment.
