And they are trained to recognize what those are. I know I was, and I'm not even an officer.

An unprovoked nuclear first strike is (or should be) an unlawful order.

Suppose Trump wishes to attack Iran to “stop development of a nuclear weapon“, or because he “believes” they have one. Who will disobey him?

Sadly, the only person I can find who prevented/questioned a nuclear launch order was Soviet Lt. Col. Stanislav Petrov, and the Russians did not appreciate the fact that he had correctly prevented Doomsday.
